Developer can finally build homes in SLO County beach town, CA Supreme Court rules (sanluisobispo.com) — A California Supreme Court ruling means Shear Development can finally move forward with building three homes in Los Osos under a 2019 permit issued by San Luis Obispo County. The unanimous decision limits when the Coastal Commission can override local coastal plans, and confirms that this particular Los Osos property is not classified as environmentally sensitive habitat under the county’s current Local Coastal Program.

Earthquake measuring 2.0 shakes area close to Lake Nacimiento, CA on April 22 (sacbee.com) — A minor 2.0 magnitude earthquake shook part of San Luis Obispo County near Lake Nacimiento on Wednesday afternoon, but quakes this small are rarely felt or damaging. Still, officials remind residents to be ready to drop, cover, and hold on, and to report any shaking they noticed to the U.S. Geological Survey’s online “Felt Report.”
