2 Homes Burglarized In Fairfax Neighborhood

Police believe the same person may have committed both burglaries.

FAIRFAX, CA – Two homes have been burglarized over the past three weeks in the same Fairfax neighborhood, authorities said.

The first burglary occurred Feb. 25 at a home on Manzanita Road. The suspect broke the sliding glass door to enter the home and steal jewelry, according to Fairfax police.

The second burglary happened March 13 at a home on Frustuck Avenue. Police said the suspect entered the residence through an unlocked window, and stole electronic equipment, laptops and jewelry.

Police believe the same person may have committed both burglaries.

"When a pattern develops like this, the suspect often lives or travels through the area," Fairfax police Chief Christopher Morin said.

"While most burglars prefer to quietly commit their crime and enter through unlocked windows or doors, as in the Manzanita case, this suspect is obviously willing to break glass to make entry, as in the Frustuck case."

Police encouraged residents in the area to report anyone suspicious.

"If your gut tells you they don’t look right, report it," Morin said. "We would rather respond to your call and confirm that someone belongs in the area than to not get that call."
