On Wednesday, October 17th, Wade Thomas will be hosting it's annual Lapathon. The Wade Thomas Lap-A-Thon raises funds used by the Wade Thomas Parents Association for our annual school operational needs. It is our ONLY school fundraiser. Funds raised during this event are used to purchase the much needed teacher supplies, books for our library, technology for our classrooms and playground equipment. As a result of this year's state budget cuts, these needs could not be more critical to our school community!
The Lapathon is a whole lot of fun and great exercise for all the kids at Wade Thomas School. Each year in the Fall, the kids come out to run, dance or walk laps around the school yard. Break stands with water and oranges, are hosted by volunteer parents. Parents and friends come to cheer the kids on, dance to the music we play during the event, and take endless photographs. Popsicles are provided to all at the finish line. Each child may win a prize depending on how much money they raise for the school.
