Boys Water Polo: Drake's Season Ends With Loss to Top-Seeded Las Lomas

Sergara and Jarrett each score twice for Drake.

The Las Lomas High boys water polo teams came out and looked every bit like a No. 1 seed as it used a balanced scoring attack to defeat 13-5 in the North Coast Section Division II semifinals Thursday.

The key to the win was a well-balanced offensive attack. Bryan Snyder was off to a quick start as he scored three goals in the first quarter. He scored six goals for the game, most all from his left wing spot.

To its credit, Drake was able to muster shots, however not many were direct on goal.

The Pirates did have opportunities arise as they forced Las Lomas into some turnovers and blocked shots. However, finding the open man or any offensive rhythm eluded Drake all evening.

Chase Jarrett scored the lone goal for Drake late in the first-half to break the ice, but they were never able to match the Knights explosive attack. The offense was more fluid in the second-half. Jarrett scored once again. Spencer Sergara scored two times and Damon Pavlicek one goal.

Goaltender William Sale faced a multitude of shots, but still managed 10 saves. Sale played his best in the second-half after he was relieved for a spell by Jack Seiner. After the break, he stopped six of the final seven shots faced.

The Pirates finish the season with a record of 17-11.
