MARIN COUNTY, CA —A 52-year-old man was arrested Friday night in Marin County's Strawberry area after he reportedly was spotted walking from the side yard of a home — the same elderly person's residence he is accused of running naked from in December after a break-in, according to officials.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office said the suspect, Karl Vincent D’Angelo of Santa Rosa, was apprehended at 9:30 p.m. after nearly a monthlong investigation. Officials did not disclose the street on which the victim lived.

D'Angelo was identified as the possible suspect, who, on Dec. 22 at the same residence, broke in while the woman was sleeping, the agency said.

"The victim was awoken by the presence of a stranger in her bedroom," deputies said. "When she yelled out the suspect fled from the house naked."

Neighbors told investigators that an unknown person and vehicle were seen in the area a week prior to the incident, and after one person photographed the suspicious vehicle, detectives "were able to zero in on D’Angelo," the department said.

D’Angelo previously was released on bail for similar charges in Sonoma County, officials added.

D’Angelo was booked into the Marin County Jail for suspicion of stalking, indecent exposure, elder abuse with great bodily injury likely, burglary, prowling and allegedly committing a felony while out on bail, deputies said.
