Come enjoy great music and a message of hope as we explore favorite Broadway musicals and deeper spiritual themes in our annual “God on Broadway” series.&nbsp; Shows in this year’s series are: "The Lion King” (August 2), “Man of La Mancha” (August 9), “The Music Man” (August 16), and “Maybe Happy Ending” (August 23). Our pianist/composer John Steiner and guest musicians will perform songs from each production.
Rev. Cynthia Cochran-Carney will explore meaningful and humorous connections between Broadway shows and biblical stories, saying “The arts inform all aspects of our lives, including our spiritual lives. Many of the musicals look at challenging social issues, including racism, poverty, exploitation, and diversity. In this time of polarization and division, the arts can open us up to see joys and challenges from someone else’s perspective.”
Sing, laugh and learn valuable life lessons with us in the sanctuary on Sundays in August at 9:30 am at First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael, 1510 Fifth Avenue.&nbsp; The building is handicap accessible. The services are livestreamed on YouTube.

The service will include soul soothing music, readings from Celtic poetry, silence and candle lighting.
