Art Talk Tuesday: Treasures of the Pharaohs

Join us on Tuesday, September 8 at 12pm for our next Art Talk Tuesday: Treasures of the Pharaohs. 

Discover the grandeur of the world of the Egyptian pharaohs, ranging from monumental granite statues to intricate gold jewelry. Spanning 3,000 years of history, Treasures of the Pharaohs begins with the pharaoh at the apex of Egypt’s social hierarchy and broadens to include family, high officials, gods, and views of death and the afterlife. Additional objects represent the daily life of those who served the pharaohs, offering insight into Egyptian society, its beliefs, and its artistic achievements. Docent Maureen O’Brien will share how each piece in Treasures of the Pharaohs highlights the wealth and complexity of ancient Egyptian civilization.
