Dozens of Summer Internship Jobs Posted In Marin Co., SF, North Bay

Internships can add experience to college graduates’ résumés, which often make the difference in getting a full-time job after college graduation, experts say.

“Graduating students with paid or unpaid internships on their résumé have a much better chance at landing a full-time position upon graduation,” Melissa Benca, director of career services at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City told CareerBuilder.com.

Besides gaining real-world experience and the opportunity to leave a potential employer with a favorable impression, internships also give college students a chance to “test drive” related careers within the same field of study — for example, marketing and public relations or advertising, CareerBuilder.com said.

Some other advantages include networking opportunities, the chance to connect with a mentor, an introduction to the field’s culture and etiquette, and learning new skills. Some internships come with college credit or certification.
