Driver Hits Hydrant In Fairfax; Water Shutoff Required PG&E Help

Due to overhead power lines, stopping heavy water flow from the fire hydrant required utility's assistance, officials said.

FAIRFAX, CA — After a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant Monday in Fairfax, assistance from Pacific Gas & Electric Co. was needed before the heavy water run-off could be stopped, due to overhead power lines, according to the Fairfax Police Department.

The morning accident, reported on Fawn Ridge at Bolinas Road, led to the downhill flow onto Meadow Way and Wood Lane, officials said.

Shortly before noon, the department reported the water was shut off.
