Fairfax Blaze Extinguished Before Firefighters Arrive

The apartment fire was quickly handled by the tenant.

FAIRFAX, CA -- Fairfield firefighters responded to a fire in an apartment the afternoon of Dec. 5, only to find that the tenant had managed to extinguish the blaze on their own.

Fairfield Deputy Fire Chief Jorge Merodio said the fire that started around 1 p.m. in the apartment in the 1000 block of Broadway Street was out before firefighters arrived.

The tenant was not injured and has found other housing until power is restored to the apartment, Merodio said.
