Fairfax Man Identified In Fatal Coastal Sonoma County Crash

The Marin County man was driving an Alfa Romeo sportscar that drifted off state Highway 1 near Jenner, the California Highway Patrol said.

NORTH BAY, CA — A Marin County man was killed Wednesday when his car drifted off state Highway 1 in coastal Sonoma County, authorities said.

Warren Adams, 74, of Fairfax, was identified as the victim in the crash reported at 11:21 a.m. Wednesday on SR-1 near Meyers Grade Road, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office and the California Highway Patrol.

"Santa Rosa CHP officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle off the roadway and down a hillside," CHP Officer David deRutte said. "Preliminary investigation indicates an Alpha Romeo was traveling northbound on SR-1, north of Meyers Grade Road. For unknown reasons at this time, the vehicle drifted to the left and drove off the roadway."

The car rolled several times and continued several hundred feet down the hillside.

Helicopter crews with the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office and the CHP responded.

"The solo male occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene," deRutte said.

Thursday afternoon, the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office identified Adams as the crash victim.

The CHP asked anyone with information about the crash to call the Santa Rosa CHP Office at 707-588-1400.
