Forest Knolls​ Woman Killed In West Marin Crash​

The victim's vehicle went approximately 30 feet down an embankment and overturned within Samuel P. Taylor State Park in West Marin.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Marin County Sheriff's Office has identified Nancy Dee Hechtman Jacobsen, 72, of Forest Knolls, as the driver who was found dead in a crashed vehicle Monday in unincorporated Marin County.

The crash was reported by a passerby at 2:25 p.m. in the 8800 block of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard within Samuel P. Taylor State Park in West Marin, according to the sheriff's office.

Jacobsen's vehicle went approximately 30 feet down an embankment and overturned. It came to rest near Lagunitas Creek.

Jacobsen was found inside the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at 2:44 p.m., sheriff's officials said.

The crash remains under investigation. A forensic postmortem exam and toxicology testing was scheduled for Wednesday.

"The Marin County Sheriff's Office and personnel of the Coroner Division offer our best wishes and condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Jacobsen," sheriff's officials said.
