Here's to pavilions, brainstorms, jumping, Manga & bowling balls—pick and choose from this week's array of events.
Here, we've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children. Each Wednesday, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Where/When: Fairfax Pavilion, 142 Bolinas Rd., Fairfax; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Why Go: Because the soggy weather can’t stop you. Come on over to the Pavilion and let your kiddo loose for a while. You might even get to finish a sentence.

Pricing: $5
Where/When: Bay Area Discovery Museum, 557 McReynolds Rd., Fort Baker, Sausalito; daily until May 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends
Why Go: This new exhibit is bound to keep your kids busy. Promise. Everything from blocks and tinkertoys to computers where your young Eames (say that three times fast) can design the perfect room for an imaginary client. Future architects, engineers and designers: let your creative juices flow!
Prices: $8 children (1-17), $10 adults, $ seniors (62+)
Where/When: San Rafael Gymnastics, 129 Carlos Dr, San Rafael; 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Why Go: Because your couch isn’t a trampoline. Really. Let the kids jump on the real thing. For 18 months to 6 year olds.
Pricing: $10 for those not currently enrolled, $8 for those enrolled. Parents must stay and supervise (but of course, you’d do that anyway).
Where/When: Corte Madera Library, 707 Meadowsweet, Corte Madera; Saturday 3 to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Do you have a 9-15 year-old that’s into the Japanese comics known as Manga? Here’s their chance to take a workshop and learn some tricks of the trade. No experience neccesary and all materials included.

Where/When: Did you know this old school bowling alley at 88 Vivian Way in San Rafael has a Thursday Special? From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. it’s only four bucks a game.
Why Go: Because the weather isn't cooperating, why not go bowling? Who doesn’t love rolling a ball and watching it ricochet off the bumpers?
Pricing: $4 a game and $4 for shoe rental
