Houseboat Resident Scuffle Turns Violent, Assault Charges Pending: Police

Sausalito police say the two men, who live on houseboats in Richardson Bay, got into a fight that sent one to the hospital.

SAUSALITO, CA- Sausalito police arrested a man on suspicion of assaulting another man after an argument early Monday morning.

Police responded around 2:10 a.m. to a physical fight at the 7-Eleven store at 1901 Bridgeway in Sausalito, Lt. Bill Fraass said.

The suspect, identified as James Leblanc, 43, was detained by officers who pointed a Taser stun gun at him when he tried to leave the scene, Fraass said.

The 46-year-old victim was found bleeding from significant facial injuries outside the store and was taken to Marin General Hospital, Fraass said.

The men, who live on houseboats anchored in Richardson Bay, had been in an argument at a marina earlier. Leblanc admitted fighting the victim but claimed he acted in self-defense, according to Fraass.

Leblanc was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of brass knuckles and disturbing the peace. He was booked in the Marin County jail under $50,000 bail.
