Juveniles Suspected of Starting Vegetation Fire in San Rafael Wednesday

The juveniles discarded smoking materials and ran from the scene of the fire in a eucalyptus grove.

Juveniles are suspected of causing a vegetation fire in the Dominican neighborhood of San Rafael on Wednesday afternoon, San Rafael Fire Chief Chris Gray said.

The juveniles discarded smoking materials and ran from the scene of the fire in a eucalyptus grove at the corner of Locust Avenue and Gold Hill Grade, Gray said.

Firefighters responded at 4:20 p.m. and quickly contained the fire to 1,000 square feet before it reached trees and threatened structures, Gray said.

There were no injuries or damage to any homes reported, he said.
