Man Found Dead at Stinson Beach ID'd as Ralf Hilty of San Francisco

Hilty was known to frequent the area. The cause and circumstance of his death are still under investigation.

The Marin County coroner’s office has identified a deceased man who washed ashore at Stinson Beach last Friday as 50-year-old Ralf Hilty of San Francisco.

The coroner’s office responded at 12:36 p.m. to the discovery of the body in the surf line in the 300 block of Seadrift Road, coroner’s Lt. Keith Boyd said.

Lifeguards from the National Park Service recovered Hilty’s body, Boyd said.

Hilty was known to frequent areas of the Marin Headlands. The cause and manner of his death are under investigation by the coroner’s office and investigators with the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Boyd said.
