The Marin County coroner’s office has identified a driver who died when his car overturned on a northbound U.S. Highway 101 on-ramp Friday as Carl Lehman III, 72, of San Rafael.

Lehman’s Cadillac drifted off the Lincoln Avenue on-ramp up a steep hill, overturned onto its roof and landed on the road below at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, California Highway Patrol Officer Andrew Barclay said.

Lehman was trapped and unresponsive and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, Barclay said.
