Marin Armed Forces Day Event Planned In Support Of Injured Troops
Bay Area Comedian Michael Pritchard will emcee the benefit event; the Swingin' Blue Stars of the USS Hornet will perform.

MARIN COUNTY, CA -- Comedian and acclaimed inspirational speaker Michael Pritchard will emcee a special Armed Forces Day event in Marin County on Saturday, May 20, featuring a performance by The Swingin' Blue Stars of the USS Hornet.
The fundraiser will benefit the Travis Air Force Base Fisher House, a nonprofit foundation that provides free temporary housing for local injured service members, veterans and their families when they need medical care at major military and Veterans Administration medical centers far from home.
Supporters of military veterans, their families and friends in Marin County and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area are invited to the May 20 event featuring '40s swing style vocal music, hors d'oeuvres, a buffet dinner, beverages and a raffle. The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the San Rafael Community Center, 618 B St., San Rafael.

Individual tickets are $45 in advance; $50 at the door. A reserved table of 10 is $400. The Travis Air Force Base Fisher House in Fairfield is one of a nationwide network of comfort homes located near major military bases and Veterans Administration medical centers. Fisher House homes are provided at no cost to military families needing housing while a loved one is getting medical treatment.
