Marin County Nonprofit Partners With High School For Art Exhibit
The exhibit, called "Heroes and Heroines," will debut on Mar. 4 both online and at a gallery in downtown San Anselmo.

SAN ANSELMO, CA — High school art students at The Branson School are teaming up with Cedars, a Marin County-based nonprofit that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to create an art exhibit called “Heroes and Heroines.”
The exhibit will consist of paintings depicting people who inspired the students and Cedars artists. According to a blog post on Branson’s website, about 20 students created videos of their favorite heroes, and artists from Cedars made paintings based on the videos. The heroes range from the goddess Artemis to former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The entire exhibit will be shown online on Mar. 4, and curators from Cedars will choose some pieces to hang at its gallery in downtown San Anselmo. Cedars, which was founded in 1919, supports nearly 200 individuals with daily programs.

“We’ve had a great relationship with Branson for years through our Best Buddies program, but this kind of artistic collaboration has enabled the artists on both sides to learn from each other and be inspired by each other,” said Chuck Greene, Executive Director of Cedars, in the news release. “It has unequivocally deepened our partnership.”
