Vice Mayor Doug Kelly lost his bid for re-election to the San Anselmo Town Council, finishing 173 votes behind incumbent Ford Greene. Challenger Matt Brown led with 1,623 votes and Lise Torme placed fourth in the race for two open seats.
Kelly said the voting was reflective of the votes on two competing measures regarding a proposed flood retention basin at Memorial Park. Kelly favored the proposal, which lost, and Matt Brown and Ford Greene were opposed to it.
