Marin Police Arrest Man on Suspicion of Shooting at Highway 101
A man called 911 when he spotted the suspect waving the gun, police said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA- San Rafael police arrested a man Monday on suspicion of shooting a gun toward U.S. Highway 101.
Police received a 911 call around 6 p.m. from a 44-year-old man about a suspect who pointed a gun at him at the southbound Highway 101 bus stop on Manuel T. Freitas Parkway, police Lt. Alan Piombo said.
The caller told an officer the man with the gun fired it at the bus stop and fled. Another officer responded and found the suspect, Alex Mysliviy, 24, of San Rafael running from the bus stop toward Manuel T. Freitas Parkway.

The officers confronted Mysliviy as he tried to discard the gun and took him into custody, Piombo said. Police took a loaded 9mm Glock 19 firearm for evidence.
The man who called police said Mysliviy was waving the gun, showing it off and fired one round toward the freeway, according to police.

Police found a shell casing at the scene but were unable to find the bullet that was fired, Piombo said.
Mysliviy was previously arrested for burglary in San Rafael in 2012, and he was arrested Monday on suspicion of firearm offenses including shooting at an inhabited vehicle and brandishing a weapon, Piombo said.
