Young Playwrights Show Their Talent at Judged Competition
Finalist from local high schools discuss their plays at countywide event held at the Marin Theater Company.
Young actors and script writers from eight area high schools performed original works Monday at the Marin Young Playwrights Festival on Monday at the Marin Theatre Co. in Mill Valley.
The eight finalists were from Drake, San Marin, Redwood, Marin School of the Arts, and Analy (Sebastopol) high schools.
Most of the kids read from scripts that lasted 10 to 25 minutes. In the end, the judges chose Pillsbury by Lindsy Mobley and Matt Saunders of Drake High as the winners. Their play will receive a professional staging with equity actors at Marin Theatre Co.
