Police: Injured Man Found in Marin Roadway
San Rafael police say they aren't sure how the man was hurt, as he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
SAN RAFAEL, CA- San Rafael Police are asking for the public's help Monday in information related to the hospitalization of a local man who was discovered hurt and drunk, lying in the middle of a roadway.
According to SRPD Lt. Aan Piombo, the man-- identified as 41-year-old Julio Amilcar Rodas-- was found around 10 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Playa Del Rey.
Community members found Rodas lying in the street, and called for help.

"When Officer Kevin MacDougald arrived he found Rodas intoxicated and not able to care for himself," Piombo said in a news release. "Officer MacDougald noticed that Rodas was also injured."
Though it was clear Rodas was hurt, it wasn't immediately clear how he ended up that way, the lieutenant said. The conscious, but impaired, man was taken to a local trauma center to be treated.

"SRPD is investigating the cause of an injury to Mr. Rodas," Piombo said. "At this time it is not known if he sustained the injury due to fall caused by his impairment or as the result of some other act."
The lieutenant asked that anyone who may have information related to the incident call San Rafael Police at 415.485.3000. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
As of Monday, Rodas remained hospitalized, but an update on his condition wasn't available.
