Ready to Run for Office? Marin County Candidate Nomination Period Opens
There are open seats on school boards and special districts, including resource conservation, fire, health care, water and recreation.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Are you feeling the election season spirit and an urge to serve your community?
Potential candidates may file nomination papers for the local offices in the Nov. 8 General Election anytime in the next three weeks. The nomination period ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug.12, with an extension to Wednesday, Aug. 17, if an incumbent officeholder does not file.
There are open seats on school district boards and special districts, including resource conservation, fire protection, health care, water and recreation districts. The complete list of open seats and qualifications is on the Elections Department website at Marinvotes.org.

Candidates may pick up and file their nomination papers at the Marin County Elections Department, Suite 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. The hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The deadline to register to vote in this election is Monday, Oct. 24.
