Ready to Vote, San Anselmo? Voting Underway for November 8 Election

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Voting in the November 8 general election is underway at the Marin County Elections Department in Suite 121 of the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael. Any registered voter can vote in person at the Civic Center during regular weekday hours, or until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

The Elections Department is anticipating a high turnout in this election. About 500 overseas voters have already returned their ballots — that’s 20 percent — and nearly 1,000 local voters have returned ballots. The general election turnout was nearly 91 percent in 2008, and more than 87 percent in 2012.

Do you still need to register to vote? The deadline is Monday, October 24. You can register online at registertovote.ca.gov, or call 415-473-6456 to request a paper form by mail.

Voters who want to get a ballot in the mail must apply by November 1 in one of the following ways:

• Online at marinvotes.org
• By phone at 415-473-6441 or 415-473-6444
• In person at the Elections Department during the regular hours, weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• In writing by using the application on the back cover of the voter information pamphlet, or mailing or faxing a request to the Registrar of Voters, Marin County Civic Center, P.O. Box E, San Rafael, CA 94913. The fax number is 415-473-6447

If you vote by mail, remember to sign and date your return envelope, and your ballot must be postmarked no later than Election Day.
