Coroner IDs Marin Co. Man Killed In Hwy 1 Collision

The motorcyclist died after hitting a septic truck, CHP said. (Breaking)

MARIN COUNTY, CA – A 26-year-old San Rafael man killed in a head-on collision with a septic truck on state Highway 1 near Bolinas on Tuesday morning has been identified as Sergio Enrique Acosta III, according to the Marin County coroner's office.

The collision was reported around 10:25 a.m. just south of Olema Bolinas Road in unincorporated Marin County.

Investigators believe Acosta on a motorcycle crossed the center line into opposing traffic where he hit a Coast Sanitary Service truck.

Acosta was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP. The crash closed the southbound lane of the roadway temporarily. Drugs and alcohol were not thought to be factors in the collision.
