The California Employment Development Department released its preliminary unemployment data for July.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin County has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the Bay Area, with only 3.6 percent of the workforce unemployed, according to the latest report from the state's Employment Development Department.

In San Anselmo specifically, 200 of the city's 7,300-member workforce were reportedly jobless in July. In Fairfax, where there is a workforce of 5,000, 100 were unemployed last month, the agency says.

Preliminary estimates for July unemployment in California were released last week, and revealed that all but one of the nine Bay Area counties had unemployment rates below the statewide average, EDD data shows.
