Town Council Meeting Notes
At the meeting of Tuesday, June 10, the Town Council took the following actions:

- Approved the resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a three-year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Cooperation Agreement with the County of Marin. The agreement, which is executed with all eleven Marin cities/towns, allows Marin to qualify for grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for housing, community facility and human service programs serving lower-income people.
- Authorized the Town Manager to sign the Professional Services Agreement for bridge replacement project management services for the Nokomis, Madrone and Center bridges with California Infrastructure Consultancy (CIC).
- Appointed Bryan Levenson to the Parks & Recreation Commission. Congratulations Bryan and thank you for volunteering your time to the Town.
- Conducted a public hearing and approved the ordinance amending the San Anselmo Municipal Code regarding the use of single use carryout bags. This ordinance, which regulates the use of plastic carryout bags in grocery, drug and convenience stores, will go into effect January 1, 2015. The ordinance prohibits carryout plastic bags for the affected retailers and requires a 10 cent charge for recycled paper bags.
- Approved resolutions establishing Town Council policies regarding the appointment of the Mayor and Vice Mayor and a code of ethics and values for all elected and appointed officials.

Recreation Reminders:
Creekside Q – Wednesday, June 25, 2014, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Creek Park. Contact the Recreation Department at 258-4640 or recreation@townofsananselmo.org for additional information. Tickets may be purchased online by visiting www.sananselmorecreation.org and clicking on SPECIAL EVENTS.
Master Planning Survey – The Town has embarked on a project that will help determine what the community’s recreational needs, wants and dreams are, and how best to accommodate those needs in the coming years through repair, renovation or construction of new community facilities. We are collecting your opinions using an online survey. The survey can be found at www.visionsananselmo.org. If you haven’t participated yet, please do!
Police Front Counter Hours
The open hours at the front counter of the San Anselmo station of the Central Marin Police Authority have been extended. The new hours are:
Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Closed Holidays
As always, if you need immediate assistance when the door is locked, pick up the phone outside and a dispatcher will assist you.
Flood Zone 9 Advisory Board

Summer Reading News
This year’s Summer Reading Program, “Paws to Read,” started this week. The theme is centered around pets – hence, the “Paws.” Come by the library to pick up your reading log. Friday, August 1, is the last day to sign up! Collect a prize for every five books or five hours that you read. Prizes for kids are:
- 5 books/hours Paws to Read pencil
- 10 books/hours Cat and Dog stickers
- 15 books/hours Temporary tattoos
- 20 books/hours Dog Eraser
- 25 books/hours Choose a book!
There’s a teen program, too. When you sign up for Teen Summer Reading (6th grade and up), you’ll receive a free book of your choice and a review form! For every book you read and review you submit, you’ll earn tickets for the Teen Raffle. Winners will be drawn at the end of the summer. Prices include:
· Kindle Reader
· SF Giants tickets
· Gift cards
· USB drives
