Garbage Collection Days

With the advent of numerous carts designed for collection of green waste, recycling materials and garbage, taking out the trash on trash day is a bigger job than it once was.

A problem has surfaced in conjunction with the increased number of carts at each residence and business.  Town Staff has received several complaints about carts that are left out on the curb or in the street all week long, rather than being brought in after pickup.

The San Anselmo Municipal Code, Title 5, Chapter 3, Section 3.03, says in part “No can or receptacle for receiving garbage shall be placed or kept on or in any public street, alley, sidewalk, footpath, or public place whatsoever.”

Please be courteous to neighbors and passersby by placing your carts such that they do not block sidewalks or street areas and bringing in your carts as soon as practical after they are emptied.

San Anselmo News, published weekly on Fridays, is available at the San Anselmo Town Hall, Library, and on the Public Notice Bulletin Board. It is also available on the Town’s website, www.townofsananselmo.org, and by email subscription.
