Thousands Of PG&E Customers Without Power Tuesday

BREAKING: Nearly 13,000 PG&E customers throughout the region are without power, including 1,038 customers in the North Bay.

BAY AREA, CA – Thousands of Bay Area residents are without power today, with most outages happening in the South Bay, according to PG&E.

As of 11 a.m., 12,699 customers throughout the region remained without power, down from 228,782 Bay Area customers who had originally been affected since last night due to the heavy rains, according to PG&E
spokeswoman Tiffany Refuerzo.

In the South Bay, which received the brunt of Monday's storm, 9,514 customers are facing outages.

In the Peninsula, 1,818 customers are without power and 1,038 customers have been affected in the North Bay.

The East Bay has 329 customers facing outages, and no outages have been reported this morning in San Francisco, according to Refuerzo.

"Crews have been working around the clock to restore power," Refuerzo said, which includes more than 400 employees and contractors.

Additionally, PG&E is being assisted by about 70 crews from other utility companies from Washington, New Mexico, Arizona and other parts of California, according to Refuerzo.
