The Planning Commission consists of seven residents appointed by the Town Council to bring a broad variety of expertise and experience to their role. The Commission reviews planning applications and serves as an advisory body to the Town Council on planning policies and regulations, including certain ordinances, and the Town General Plan and Housing Element.

There is currently one vacancy on the Commission. To be eligible, you must be a Fairfax resident, at least 18 years old. Applicants are required to attend one meeting of the Commission prior to being appointed. The Commission meets at 7 pm on the third Thursday of every month.
