Volunteer Needed for San Anselmo Flood Committee

A person with banking and/or insurance expertise is needed to serve on the committee.

SAN ANSELMO, CA — The San Anselmo Town Council is looking for a new member of the Flood Committee who has expertise in local banking or lending, or a with local insurance agency.

The needed banking and insurance expertise is due the expanded duty of the committee to serve as the Program for Public Information (PPI) group for the town’s participation in the Community Rating System (CRS) and for required elements of the town’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, according to Town Manager Debra Stutsman.

Under a resolution approved in December 2015, the responsibility of the Flood Committee for the PPI is to assess the community’s needs for flood-related information and coordinate all the resources that can deliver information.

The next meeting of the Flood Committee is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, in the Town Hall Council Chambers. All interested applicants and the public are encouraged to attend.
