Welcome to New Library Staff and Hours
And the Community Media Center serves community educational interests.

Community Media Center of Marin
The Community Media Center of Marin (CMCM) is a nonprofit organization that was established to produce and distribute a wide range of noncommercial community‐based media programming. This includes facilitating and managing the public, educational and governmental (PEG) cable channels available on local Comcast and AT&T systems.
CMCM’s purpose is to encourage the use of public, education, and government access cable channels and resources among a broad range of individuals, organizations, and institutions within Marin County, as well as to facilitate the use of the public, education and government access channels as a public forum for a free exchange of information. CMCM fulfills this role by operating and maintaining media production facilities and equipment at the community media center and by providing the resources needed to produce programming and content.

The CMCM received initial funding from our local video services franchise agreement between the Marin Telecommunications Agency (MTA) and Comcast Cable. The franchise agreement and the designation of a nonprofit provider was years in the making and included the participation and tireless efforts of numerous individuals, agencies and community‐based groups, including Media Access Advisory Committee and Media Action Marin.
Marin has three local access channels that provide community‐based media content and programs. These channels provide local public, educational and governmental programming on Comcast channels 26, 27 and 30, and AT&T U‐verse channel 99. Locally produced shows, government meetings, and educational content, such as UCTV (University of California TV) are broadcast on these channels. You can see the programming schedule at www.cmcm.tv. And, soon, look for it on the TV program guides.

Library News
The next time you are in the , stop by the display case opposite the check‐out desk to see a beautiful display of wood‐carved bird pins. The artist is Sam Nagase, who was interred in a Japanese relocation camp in Arizona during World War II. The collection is courtesy of Linda Hoch, a Library patron and Friend of the Library.
Welcome to the Library
The library also welcomed two new employees in February, as a result of the Library Tax passed in June intended to fund more open hours, improved library services and an enhanced children’s program.
On Feb. 1, Lanee Lowell began work as a part-time library assistant. Lanee is an experienced library assistant, having worked on an on‐call basis in San Anselmo and the County of Marin for the last three years.
On Feb. 14, April Hayley began work as a full-time children’s librarian. April, who recently obtained her Masters in Library Information Science, comes to San Anselmo from Berkeley Public Library and the Urban School in San Francisco.
Welcome to the San Anselmo Library, Lanee and April.
Goodbye to the Public Works Director
The San Anselmo Town Council and staff said goodbye to Public Works Director Steve Myrter last Friday. Steve was offered the opportunity to be the Public Works Director in Signal Hill, California and he just couldn’t refuse!
Steve did a great job in the last year and a half, completing a number of large capital projects in town. Under his leadership, we paved San Anselmo Avenue, the entire Saunders neighborhood, Medway and Maple Lane. In addition, overhead pedestrian warning systems were installed at the corners of Madrone and Saunders Avenues at Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and the new Creek Park hub shed was built. Much of this work was done with state and federal grants, with associated deadlines and paperwork.
Steve definitely leaves the town having accomplished a lot. We will miss him.
