West Marin All-Star Squads Opened at Home Saturday
Teams in the 9-10, 11-12 and Junior divisions embark on a series of games they hope will qualify them for tournament play and lead eventually to the Little League District 3 championship.
Three teams representing the West Marin Little League began District 3 All-Star play Saturday at sites throughout Marin County.
In the 11-12 and 9-10 age divisions, the West Marin representative will play six games over the course of the next two weeks in an effort to qualify for an eight-team, single-elimination tournament that will eventually determine the district champion.
In the Junior Division, West Marin will face each of the other five tournament entrants once in a round-robin format, with the top four advancing to a single-elimination tournament.

Coach Scot Lance’s thoughts: “Our 9-10 All-Star team is very focused and driven. In fact, they are the most focused group I've seen in West Marin in the past few years. The team is led by Kole Wilson (pitcher/shortstop) and captains Jayden Enclade (catcher/pitcher) and Eamonn Lance (infielder/pitcher/catcher). All three players bring their experience from the team as nine-year-olds last year. Top first-time All-Stars are Eric Woodrow (pitcher/right fielder), Jonas Kaefer (first baseman/pitcher) and Zev Eifler (infielder/pitcher).
“We have six solid pitchers, five of which pitched at the Majors Division level this past season. I am hopeful that kind of pitching depth and seasoning will allow us to be very competitive in the tournament. This team is very talented. Provided our pitching remains strong, I am confident we can play with the bigger market squads. We'll find out Saturday.”
