Woman Crashes Into Marin Power Pole, DUI Suspected: Police
Power was knocked out to more than 1,200 area residents as a result of the Tuesday crash, according to police.
SAN RAFAEL, CA- A San Rafael woman who crashed her vehicle into a power pole and a tree early Tuesday morning in Terra Linda is accused of driving under the influence, a San Rafael police lieutenant said.
The crash on Manuel T. Freitas Parkway between Lea Drive and Montecillo Road occurred around 1:15 a.m. and knocked out electric power to 1,235 PG&E customers, Lt. Alan Piombo said.
All but about 60 customers have had power restored, and PG&E expects full restoration by 5 p.m., PG&E spokesman Denny Boyles said.

Carissa Jane York, 36, of San Rafael, was injured when her 1996 Ford Crown Victoria struck the tree and power pole, Piombo said. She fled her vehicle but was quickly apprehended, Piombo said.
Police were in the area before the crash checking on a report of an argument in the backyard of a residence, and York is suspected of being involved in that argument, Piombo said.

She was taken to Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center and is accused of DUI, driving on a suspended licensed with a prior DUI and violating probation for DUI, Piombo said.
