Young Adults Sought for Marin County Library Commission Seats

Applicants must live in supervisorial districts 2, 3 or 5 for these openings.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Marin County Library Commission has several vacancies and the Board of Supervisors and Director of County Library Services are interested in having representation from young adult members. Applicants must live in supervisorial districts 2, 3 or 5 for these openings.

The Library Commission serves as a resource and liaison to the Board of Supervisors, the Director of County Library Services, and the community. The Library Commission finds ways and means of enlisting public interest in supporting and improving library services. They also serve as the Measure A Advisory Committee to provide independent citizen oversight for Measure A, a special tax for the Marin County Free Library.

Membership should be broadly representative of the demographic characteristics of the county and, as appropriate, should include representation from various economic, social, occupational, ethnic, racial, and age groups, in particular from the following sectors: youth, older persons, business, labor, and education. The most important qualification for membership is a demonstrated interest in the development and support of the Marin County Free Library.
