A water main break in Daly City Thursday morning has left 11 homes without water and caused flooding damage to 14 homes, according to city utility officials.

Crews from San Francisco and Daly City responded to the break at San Jose Avenue and Wilson Street at about 9:30 a.m. When it was determined that the break was located in Daly City, the Daly City crew took over.

Patrick Sweetland, director of Daly City's Department of Water and Wastewater Resources, said a contractor working on a restoration project caused the break, which led to water running down Wilson Street for 25 or 30 minutes.
