Starting Friday at 8 p.m. until Monday at 4 a.m., crews will work around the clock to continue upgrading the signal system, and trains will run on a single track. “Single tracking” occurs when trains run in both directions on the same track. Northbound passengers will board on the southbound platform for this weekend only. All patrons should follow the directions of station signs and identified ambassadors. Scheduled train stops at the station will not be affected by the construction.
Additional weekend work includes the running of a test train between the South San Francisco and Millbrae stations to evaluate the operational quality of the upgraded signal systems. Trains will sound warning horns as they approach crossings. This work is scheduled to take place between 10:30 p.m. Sunday, June 26 and 5 a.m. Monday, June 27.
Weekday work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. will include upgrades to the signal systems, track work, excavation, drainage improvements at the temporary station, construction of retaining walls for the temporary station, and sanitary sewer and utility relocations.
