Arson Fire Started At San Bruno Business, Police Say

BREAKING: Police say a 72-year-old man "... intentionally set the fire causing damage to the business."

SAN BRUNO, CA β€” A San Bruno fire at a local business on Monday was intentionally set, police say. The man suspected of starting the blaze has been arrested on arson charges.

According to San Bruno Police Lt. Ryan Johansen, the fire was reported at 10:51 a.m. in the 600 block of San Mateo Avenue, south of San Bruno Avenue.

"The San Bruno Fire Marshal concluded the fire was caused by arson," Johansen said in a news release.

Investigators soon tied 72-year-old San Bruno resident Fred Wuester to the crime, and arrested him on charges of arson, the lieutenant said. Jail records indicate that he was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail.
