San Bruno, CA. March 29, 2018. A product of San Bruno public schools, Belle Air Teacher George Ellis was recently appointed by UC Berkeley to the position of Director of Elementary Programs for the California Reading & Literature Project at the University. He will also continue his impressive work as a Kindergarten teacher-leader at Belle Air.

The mission of the California Reading & Literature Project (CRLP) is to provide high quality, standards-based teacher professional development in reading and academic language instruction. Through collaborative partnerships with schools and districts; e.g., San Bruno Park School District, CRLP supports and sustains continuous academic growth for all students, Pre-K through 12th grade.

The UC Berkeley Region of the California Reading & Literature Project is one of eleven regional sites situated across the state, dedicated to providing teachers with opportunities to deepen their content knowledge and expand their repertoire of teaching strategies in language and literacy.
