“BIKE TO WORK DAY”

I am so very proud of our BPAC colleagues as we performed another fantastic “Community Service” activity with our dedicated and active participation in the “2018 Bike to Work Day.”
We doubled our participation as we represented our City at two “Refresher Stations” here in San Bruno; as there were a total of forty-one stations in our region.

Special “THANKS” and “ACCOLAIDES” is extended to Committee Member and Walmart Representative Cecile Riborozo who once again organized and coordinated all the arrangements for our very successful “Fresher Station” at San Bruno BART. Thanks is also given to Committee Members Walter Bird, Adam Cozzette, and Vice Chairman Henry Mar; and Walmart employees who actively greeted and interacted with the many bicycle riders who stopped at the station.
The other “Refresher Station” was located at the main entrance to the CALTRAIN station sponsored by YouTube. This station was operated by YouTube employee Summer (I did not secure her last name) … and Chairman David Nigel. Many cyclists rode by numbering in excess of one hundred-fifty riders, while sixty stopped at the station where coffee, pastries, bananas were served and each rider was the recipient of “Bike to Work” bags that contained bicycle reflectors, bike path maps, Clif energy bars, YouTube bags, commute information, and other gifts.
One highlight of the morning was when our Community Development Director, David Woltering, arrived at both stations on his bicycle, having ridden from San Mateo to San Bruno. There is nothing like “Leading by example!”
Thanks to everyone for a very successful morning of “Outreach!”
Regarding another issue, I am the person who usually organizes and coordinates our information table during the “Posy Parade / Community Day in the Park” that will take place Sunday, June 3rd.
I respectfully hope that our Committee Members will be actively participating in this exciting, fun-filled event.
Please contact me if you can participate in this important San Bruno event.
Thanks a million, David
