Blunt Force Trauma Murder: Daly City Woman Killed in Weekend Attack, Boyfriend Arrested, Police Say

DALY CITY, CA – A San Francisco man has been arrested on suspicion of murder for the death of his 23-year-old girlfriend during an apparent domestic dispute in Daly City over the weekend, police said.

Authorities identified the victim as Ariana Hatami and the suspect as Fredrick Tran.

Daly City police Sgt. Ron Harrison said, "Early indications appear that blunt force trauma may have been the cause of her death and we're looking into that with the help of forensic crews."

Officers responded at around 12:05 a.m. Saturday to a home at 18 Fairview Ave. after receiving a report of a domestic dispute, according to police.Upon arrival, officers found Hatami suffering from severe injuries. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where she died a short while later, according to police.

Tran was arrested at the scene. Daly City police are continuing to investigate the homicide and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Brandon Scholes at (650) 991-8172.
