CBP Officer Who Threatened To Blow Up City Hall Enters Plea: DA
The San Bruno resident is accused of threatening to blow up the local city hall.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer pleaded not guilty Tuesday to criminal threat charges for allegedly calling San Bruno City Hall repeatedly and threatening to blow up the building, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Keith Gillam, a 38-year-old San Bruno resident, allegedly made multiple calls on July 23, asking the city clerk when City Manager Connie Jackson was retiring and when she was getting off of work so he could meet her as she left the building, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.
Gillam allegedly warned that city officials should not try to trace his number and said he wanted to know when the new city manager was starting "so that I can blow up City Hall on his first day," prosecutors said.

He had allegedly been making calls to City Hall for months, but the July call was the first to involve threats, prosecutors said.
He was arrested the next day. San Bruno police said no explosive devices were found at his home, but investigators seized firearms and other evidence there.

Gillam has worked with Customs and Border Protection since Jan. 28, 2013, and he is currently on administrative duty, according to the agency.
A CBP spokesperson said the agency does "not tolerate misconduct or abuse within our ranks, and we fully cooperate with any criminal or administrative investigations of alleged misconduct by any of our personnel, on or off duty."
Gillam pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony making criminal threats and misdemeanor making phone calls with the intent to annoy. He is set to return to court for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 30 and is out of custody on $50,000 bail.
