CCS Softball Title Tops Cap's 2010-11 Highlight Reel
Girls soccer's PAL Ocean championship and boys basketball's shared PAL Lake title also rank high.
With Capuchino High's 2010-11 athletic year in the books, here is a look at some of the Mustangs' top accomplishments:
1. Softball: Capuchino won its first Central Coast Section championship since 1997 with over Santa Catalina in the Division III final. Jennifer Lewis and Ariana Wassmer went a combined 5-for-8 at the dish and Eleni Katout hit a double and drove in two runs. Cap’s chances to repeat next season seem solid according to Patch’s .
2. Girls Soccer: Capuchino won the Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division with a 13-1 record, three games ahead of rival Mills. The Mustangs will be swapping places with Hillsdale and moving to the upper-tier PAL Bay Division in the fall.

3. Boys Basketball: Capuchino earned PAL Lake Division co-champion honors along with Westmoor (tied at 6-2). The Mustangs started the season 8-3, after winning tournaments in Kelseyville and Orestimba. Cap will return its center in 6-foot-7 Daniel Afeaki next season but most of its starting core will have departed.
4. Baseball: Capuchino finished second in the PAL Ocean Division behind Half Moon Bay with an 11-3 record. The Mustangs, who were 15-11-1 overall, return talented pieces in Tim Gretter, Eddie Cecci and Jake Steenvoorde.

5. Softball: Senior catcher Jamie Navarro earned . Navarro led the league in hits (23), runs (14), triples (6) and was second with a blistering .469 batting average. Pitcher Michelle Pilster and shortstop Jennifer Lewis were named to the first team, and second baseman Arianna Wassmer made the second team.
6. Baseball: Junior utility player Tim Gretter received the . The 5-foot-10 left-hander batted .479 and slugged .723 for the season, leading the Mustangs in most statistical categories. Gretter helped the team to a second-place finish in league play and to a trip to the CCS playoffs.
