Child Hospitalized, Six Displaced in Daly City Fire

Firefighters contained the fire to the bedroom but the rest of the home sustained heavy smoke damage, fire officials said.

DALY CITY, CA β€” A child was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation after escaping a house fire Thursday morning in Daly City, officials with the North County Fire Authority said.

Firefighters responded at 10:12 a.m. to 1026 Skyline Drive where they found smoke and flames coming from the front bedroom window of a two-story single-family home.

Firefighters contained the fire to the bedroom but the rest of the home sustained heavy smoke damage, fire officials said.

The fire displaced six residents who received help with temporary housing through the American Red Cross. No one else was injured, according to fire officials.

The cause is under investigation.
