Coroner IDs San Bruno Resident In Deadly Embankment Crash

Breaking: Police say the man was found in a vehicle down a steep embankment off a local highway.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A man who was found unresponsive, and ultimately died, at the scene of a weekend crash off a local highway has been identified by coroner's officials. Police say the man crashed Saturday just before 10 p.m. on State Highway 35 (Skyline Blvd), between Sneath Lane and College Drive.

"Officers located the vehicle down a steep embankment and the driver was unresponsive," police said in a news release Tuesday. "The driver was treated by responding medical personnel, but died at the scene."

San Mateo County coroner's officials identified him as 37-year-old Wesley Cosino of San Bruno.

No one else was in the vehicle. Police said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
