At the August 22 2017 San Bruno CA Council meeting, it was announced that there is now an opening on the Cultural & Arts Commission.
Description of Duties and Purpose
The Commission is responsible for promoting the artistic development of the community and preserving San Bruno’s diverse cultural heritage. The Commission's goals include acquiring and maintaining public art as well as sponsoring programs and events that enhance the quality of life for residents and improve the image and character of the community. San Bruno Municipal Code Section 2.50 outlines the rules and procedures of the Culture and Arts Commission.

The Culture and Arts Commission By-laws
The Commission also maintains a directory of artists who are interested in receiving information on upcoming public art projects. If you would like to add your name to the directory to receive future Calls for Artists, please email the Commission ( cultureandarts@sanbruno.ca.gov ) and request to be added to our list. Please include your name, mailing address, email and telephone.

The Culture and Arts Commission is currently sponsoring a call for artists for the City of San Bruno Community Art Gallery Program. Artists are invited to submit applications to exhibit two-dimensional work in the San Bruno Library's main reading room. Applications may be submitted individually or as a group.
Meetings
The Commission meets the third Thursday of the month, at 6:30 p.m., at City Hall in Conference Room 115
The City of San Bruno has several Citizen Advisory Commissions, Boards and Committees, whose volunteer members are San Bruno residents appointed by the City Council. Members meet in the evening, once a month or less, serving staggered four-year terms that expire in October of every even year, at that time they may wish to seek re-appointment for another term.
You may apply any time, applications are kept on file for two years. When vacancies occur, applicants will be contacted and invited to attend a brief informal interview with the mayor and council.
