The San Mateo County Historical Association is searching for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to help San Mateo County history come alive for the students, residents and visitors of San Mateo County. Are you a people person? Then interpreting our historic sites may be right for you. Engage with visitors of all ages from around the world as you share our unique and colorful history. Interested in education and working with school children? Consider leading or assisting with our school programs. We provide engaging, hands-on, educational programs for 20,000 San Mateo County and Bay Area elementary students and their chaperones each year.

Opportunities are available at the San Mateo County History Museum in Redwood City, the Woodside Store in Woodside and the Sanchez Adobe in Pacifica. Join us for our upcoming FREE Docent Orientation on Saturday, March 24. From 2 - 4 p.m., an orientation will be held at the San Mateo County History Museum, located at 2200 Broadway Street in Redwood City. There you will learn about opportunities available at all three sites. The orientation will include an introduction to docent techniques. After the orientation, on-the-job training will be held at all of the sites.
