Who's Who and What's What

1. Now is the time to reserve your picnic area and or other city facilities for your late spring, summer and early fall picnics, parties and get-togethers. Find out how by calling 650-616-7180.

2. The city's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, which reviews planning documents with bicyclists in mind, is looking for new members. Its monthly meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. in City Hall. If you're interested, the application is attached. On another note, the committee presented its yearly report this week at the council meeting. The report is attached.

3. On Tuesday, at the council meeting, I gave an update to the City Council as the city's trustee to the San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District about how the public can help the district. My comments are attached along with the district's "Fight The Bite" flier, which you can download, print, post and distribute. The attachment includes the 1-877-WNV-BIRD statewide state toll free number that you can use to report incidents involving birds possibly carrying West Nile virus.

4. The chamber is organized for the purpose of advancing the economic, industrial, professional, cultural and civic welfare of the San Bruno area and San Mateo County. The chamber encourages the growth of existing businesses, while giving all proper assistance to any new firms or individuals seeking to move to San Bruno and to support all those activities believed to be beneficial to the community and area, and to oppose those which might be detrimental. For more information, call 650-588-0180 or visit www.sanbrunochamber.com.

5. The chamber is finalizing plans for a bigger and better farmers' market in front of The Shops at Tanforan. It will take place on Sundays, hopefully starting late May.

6. The South San Francisco High School Class of 1967 is planning its 45-year reunion, but organizers have lost contact with many students. The reunion flier is attached with a list of the lost contacts. If you know how to contact any of these students, please provide their contact info.
