Hazmat Incident At Peninsula Business Prompts Evacuation
BREAKING: Some of the surrounding businesses also chose to self-evacuate.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA β A freight forwarding company in South San Francisco has been evacuated as a precaution after police conducting an investigation at that location found unidentified chemicals late Thursday morning. Officers were at 325 Corey Way, where a business named Craters & Freighters San Francisco is listed, around 11:30 a.m. when they found materials and chemicals described as "suspicious" in the building.
"Police and fire department personnel were unable to immediately identify the substances and as a result approximately 10 employees were evacuated for precautionary reasons," South San Francisco police said in a news release.
"Several of the surrounding businesses were notified of the on-going investigation and several of the businesses chose to self-evacuate as well," police added.

Emergency crews remain on scene this afternoon and they're asking the public to stay away until the situation stabilizes.
